This is a real sign hanging in the intensive care unit of the hospital that I worked at in Haiti. The patient’s family members were sent to the blood bank at another hospital to donate blood and would bring back matched blood in exchange for their blood. They would then carry the blood back in a cooler. Sometimes volunteers would be sent to donate blood or pick up the blood, especially in an emergency. Note under “THINGS TO BRING” is “a bad-ass attitude” and a cooler.
