Imagine the thrill of looking out of the plane window on the way to Ilam, to see the Himalayas and Mount Everest.
It was after a very long flight and a 3 hour trip by van on very narrow roads that we finally reached Dr. Megh Bahadur Parajuli Community Hospital, Singfring, Ilam, Nepal. It had been a grueling trek exceeding 45 hours travel time for me to a destination that many of us have never even began to think about.

Worldwide Healing Hands partnered with Himalayan Healthcare on our recent medical mission to Nepal. Together we provided free care for women including 36 surgeries, 1483 visits, and several births. We also trained 10 local midwives. Accompanying us were National Geographic explorer Ben Horton and journalist Jesse Seaver. Our story is featured on the National Geographic Assignment Blog.
We are back from the incredible mission to Nepal, where we took a team of 10 people to eastern Nepal. We brought with us 17 boxes of donated medical equipment and supplies.
